Chris Clabby- Moderator- Co-Founder & Principal, PGV Advisors
As Co-Founder of PGV Advisors, Chris advises entrepreneurs and corporate executives in identifying business challenges, developing and implementing cross functional finance and operational solutions that deliver measurable value.
While most advisors are subject matter experts in a narrow area, Chris has developed a broad base of experience in finance, operations and M&A which has allowed him to deliver a higher level of value to each of his clients. With the ability to lead teams focused on delivering both process and profit improvement, Chris clients have enjoyed savings in excess of $500M while participating in the sourcing of capital in excess of $1B.
During his 30 year career in professional services, the last 20 in various leadership roles, Chris has served as a managing partner and practice leader for an international accounting and consulting firms as well as having previously developed and led a successful financial advisory practice focused on delivering value through finance, operation and tax solutions.
Chris has served organizations in a wide variety of industries from start up to Fortune 50. In each situation, he has helped them to achieve their business objectives through a disciplined process of establishing their operational challenges and developing a practical, customized solution that fits their organization.
Along with his business, Chris serves on the Advisory Board of The University of Tampa, USF Health Innovation Committee, The Outback Bowl as well as Principals Equity, a New York based private equity firm.
Chris is a Certified Public Accountant receiving his bachelor’s in accounting from St John’s University and his master’s degree from Long Island University.
Shabbir Ahmed- CFO, Phillip Jeffries
Shabbir Ahmed is an international CFO/COO and Change Manager with over 30 years of experience as a C-suite leader at Fortune 100 and private companies around the world. He is an expert at leading, developing, and transforming corporations with a focus on finance, operations, and global growth. Prior to joining Phillip Jeffries as CFO in 2019 he was based in New York as Chief Finance & Administration Officer at D’Addario for five years.
Shabbir spent most of his life in Europe and began his international career in Austria with AGA Gas (later acquired by the Linde group) where he served for 12 years as Controller and CFO in different European countries. After his last two year assignment in the US with AGA/Linde, he moved back to Europe and took up positions as EMEA CFO and VP Change Management for large corporations such as Stanley Black & Decker and Johnson Controls with pan-European responsibilities in excess of US$ 1 billion. At Johnson Controls, he successfully led the integration where the acquired European company was restructured from 5,500 employees, 9 plants & full organizations in each of the 12 major countries to a new continental footprint of 5 plants, 3,500 people and a European Shared Services center in Czech Republic with centralized Accounting, A/R, A/P, and some IT as well as Sourcing.
Before coming to USA, Shabbir spent seven years as an international consultant, focused mostly in Asia, where he crafted strategies and successfully led programs and initiatives for medium sized companies to develop their operational excellence, global competitiveness and international footprint.
Shabbir is an operationally driven finance leader who has restructured large complex multi-site/nation manufacturing footprints, set up European shared service centers, headed and integrated numerous international mergers and acquisitions valuing from US$ 2 to 500 million. His industry background is in Manufacturing, Automotive, Chemicals and consumer goods. Shabbir’s areas of expertise lie in Corporate Finance, Controllership, Operational Excellence, Strategy, M&A, Change Management, and Continuous Improvement.
As a result of his international background he inherently bridges three continents. He holds a BA & MBA from Austria, is Lean/Six Sigma certified and speaks several European and Asian languages.
Amy Valentine- CFO, SFERRA
Amy Valentine has held senior executive positions in private equity-backed portfolio companies for the past 15 years, working with 5 different PE companies in both consumer and industrial products. For the past 4 years, she has served as CFO of SFERRA, a leader in luxury home products that employs the finest materials from elite mills in Europe to distribute sumptuous sheeting, towels, and other home products. In 2018, the company was sold from Levine Leichtman Capital Partners to Highlander Partners and is poised for continued growth, most recently expanding geographically by opening a new shop within Harrod’s in London.
Prior to SFERRA, Amy was the VP of Finance at Chromalox, an industry leader in thermal technology products, based in Pittsburgh, PA. During Amy’s time at Chromalox, the company experienced global footprint expansion, acquisition, product line expansion, and underwent two successful private equity sales. Prior to Chromalox, Amy held various positions at PPG Industries, a global supplier of industrial coatings, chemicals and glass (NYSE: PPG).
Amy has an undergraduate degree from Grove City College and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Amy was named among the top 50 women in business by NJBIZ magazine in 2016, and she was awarded a "40 under 40" award by Pittsburgh magazine in 2014 for professional and civic contributions to the area.
William Viqueira- SVP, CFO & Treasurer
Bill Viqueira is SVP, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of NJ Transit. In his current role, Bill manages the agency’s financial reporting, risk management, cash management, Real Estate and Economic Development and Information Technology.
He has over twenty years of experience in corporate finance including ten years as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch and seven years with Lucent Technologies where he was Treasurer and head of Mergers & Acquisitions. Bill has also held the position of Chief Financial Officer at both a venture-backed company and a NYSE-listed company. Most recently, he was responsible for Treasury and M&A at Monster Worldwide.
Throughout his career, Bill has been involved in over $30 billion in mergers and acquisitions including acquisitions of private and public companies, sale assignments, divestitures and joint ventures.
Bill has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Intellispace, Inc. and Amper S.A (Madrid, Spain).
He received B.A. and M.A. degrees in Economics from The Johns Hopkins University. He has served as a volunteer on the advisory board for The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, Presidents Committee for the All Stars, US Fencing Youth Development Committee, NJ Division of the US Fencing Association Audit Committee and Maplewood Recreation Advisory Committee.
