Mark Gervase, Director of Product Marketing, - MODERATOR - Mark works with accountants and finance professionals to achieve efficiency and intelligence through automation. He is a former CPA with experience in public accounting and corporate finance. Throughout his career he has helped organizations adopt new technology, holding positions at Randstad RiseSmart, Sage Intacct, and Cisco Systems. Mark holds an MBA and BA in Economics from the University of California Berkeley.


Scott Firestone, Regional President, Southwest Region, Gallagher - Scott’s background encompasses over 27 years in the insurance industry, including both carrier experience and as a Principal in an entrepreneurial multi-line regional brokerage firm, which eventually became a merger partner with Gallagher in 2001.  Scott is the Regional President for Gallagher’s Southwest Region, which encompasses all Gallagher retail brokerage offices from Los Angeles to San Diego, Nevada and Arizona. The Region has over 480 employees in four territories and represents total property/casualty brokerage revenue of over $193.5 million. The Region is home to four 2019 Risk & Insurance Power Brokers and is recognized as the leader for innovation in the development of efficiency systems, procedures and best practices used throughout the Gallagher enterprise.  Scott resides in Los Angeles. His regional responsibilities include the Los Angeles, Orange County, Woodland Hills and San Diego branches and oversight of the national Aerospace division.  

The Los Angeles branch is one of the largest branches in the Gallagher enterprise, with over 300 employees, $320 million in revenue (property/casualty & benefits) and a client retention rate of 97%. The Los Angeles branch has received the honor of being named the #1 Broker in Los Angeles by Los Angeles Business Journal for seven consecutive years (2014 through 2020). The success of the region is a direct result of Scott’s leadership abilities to direct a diverse and skilled group of professionals toward a common goal, and his continuing focus on acquisitions, people development and client stewardship.


Greg Labate, Practice Group Leader, Labor and Employment Practice Group, Partner, Orange County Office - Greg represents employers in a wide range of industries. He provides general advice to employers relating to labor and employment issues, and has extensive experience in defending employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation, invasion of privacy, workplace violence, wages, and other related matters. Greg has also defended employers in numerous wage and hour class actions, with a special emphasis on class actions in the mortgage, restaurant, retail, and manufacturing industries. He is a trial attorney who has had great success defending his clients in court and in arbitration. 


Paul McDonald, Senior Executive Director, Robert Half - Paul McDonald is senior executive director at Robert Half, which specializes in the placement of professionals in the accounting and finance, technology, legal, creative, and administrative fields. He writes and speaks frequently on hiring, workplace and career management topics. Over the course of more than 30 years in the recruiting field, McDonald has advised thousands of company leaders and job seekers on how to hire and get hired.


McDonald joined Robert Half in 1984 as a recruiter for financial and accounting professionals in Boston, following a public accounting career with Price Waterhouse. In the 1990s, he became president of the Western United States overseeing all of the company’s operations in the region. McDonald became senior executive director of Robert Half Management Resources in 2000, and assumed his current role in 2012.
