Arielle shares her expertise as a graduate-level communications instructor at Columbia University, where she previously earned her MA in International Affairs with a focus in international finance. She holds a BA in International Relations from Vassar College. Tom Nehila, Chief Financial Officer, New Jersey Innovation Institute Tom Nehila is a strategic and transformational CFO with over 30 years of experience in several industries including data analytics, media, publishing, and healthcare operations. At both Reader’s Digest and Volt Information Sciences, he reduced the annual cost of finance, transformed, and built world class functions enabled through the application of technology, with automation, agility, accountability, value, and transparency. Tom is passionate about leading organizations in the execution of growth strategies, business transformations, cross functional process improvements; he’s also been featured in several publications, including Profile Magazine and LinkedIn Pulse. At Avaya, Tom led the strategy, design, and delivery of a scalable and simplified global customer experience for their strategic and multi-regional customers, which led to $200M in incremental annual contracts. He also donates his time as a board member of the Embrace Kids Foundation, a New Jersey-based foundation that exists to lighten the burden and improve the quality of life for families whose children are facing cancer and other serious health challenges. Tom earned his bachelor’s in business administration and religion from Rutgers University and his MBA in finance and international business from Seton Hall University. He is a certified management accountant (CMA) and has completed executive education programs at the Darden School of Business Administration as well as at the Babson Graduate School of Management.
