Michael Day, Board Member and Audit Committee Chair at Topa Insurance Group, Somos, Inc, and Junior Achievement of Northern California

 

Michael Day is an experienced board member who brings financial expertise and a strategic focus to his board assignments. He has worked with companies through M&A, transformation and growth efforts.

Mr. Day currently serves on the board of Topa Insurance Group, a personal and small commercial lines insurer based in Calabasas, CA. He is chairman of the Audit Committee. Mr. Day also serves on the board of Somos, Inc., a technology company which serves as the administrator for toll free numbers issued in North America, based in Weston, MA. He chairs their Audit Committee and serves on their Compensation Committee. Mr. Day previously served on the board of Recology, Inc., a San Francisco-based waste collection and recycling company. He was chairman of the Audit Committee and also served on the Governance and Innovation committees. Mr. Day also previously served on the board of AAA Life Insurance Company based in Livonia, MI. During his tenure he held the roles of board chairman and board vice chairman. He also served terms as chair of the Finance and the Nominating and Governance committees.
 
In addition, Mr. Day is currently a board member of Junior Achievement of Northern California, a not-for-profit organization focused on developing business awareness in youth. Most recently, until his retirement in May 2015, Mr. Day was the chief financial officer for CSAA, a $3 billion personal lines insurer.
 
Mr. Day has an MBA in finance from Columbia University and a BBA in accounting from Baruch College. He is also a certified public accountant licensed in the state of New York and is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Fellow.

Christine Russel, CFO, PDF Solutions

 

Christine Russell has been a financial executive in technology businesses in Silicon Valley for over 25 years with experience in both emerging and larger firms, public, venture and private equity backed. She is currently CFO of PDF Solutions (Nasdaq: PDFS) a firm offering process design technology for semiconductor companies to improve yield and track defects from design through manufacturing. Prior companies include UniPixel, Inc, a manufacturing of touch sensor films, which was sold to a China based firm.

Prior to UniPixel, she was CFO of Vendavo, Inc., a SaaS based pricing and margin optimization software company. serving the Global 2000.  The company was sold to private equity providing a successful exit for the venture capital investors.She also served as CFO of EAG, Inc. (Evans Analytical Group), a global provider of analytical testing for technology companies including major semiconductor, chemicals and pharmaceuticals firms.  She was the finance lead in the acquisition of 7-laboratories creating a new company division. Prior to EAG, she served in the roles of both CFO and EVP Business Development at Virage Logic (Nasdaq: VIRL), a semiconductor intellectual property company which was sold to Synopsys. 

Ms. Russell serves as Audit Committee Chair and Director for both QuickLogic Corporation (Nasdaq:QUIK); eGain Corporation (Nasdaq: EGAN).She is Past President of Financial Executives International, Silicon Valley Chapter (FEI), Past President of National Assn. of Corporate Directors, Silicon Valley Chapter (NACD) and Past President and Chairman Emeritus of Silicon Valley Directors Exchange (SVDX). Ms. Russell holds a B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Santa Clara.

Bonnie Tomei is the Vice President, Corporate Controller at [24]7.ai, a customer experience software and services company that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to meet consumer intent. Prior to [24]7.ai, Bonnie helped two companies to complete their IPOs, led dozens of M&A transactions, designed and implemented systems, internal control and corporate governance policies in companies in the semiconductor, consumer, software and blockchain industry. Bonnie was a past member of the board at AACI, a non-profit in San Jose and at Silvercreek Women Golf. Bonnie holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting and in Finance from the San Francisco State University and is a CPA licensed in California.

CFO Leadership Council members may attend this program for free. Non-member senior financial executives who are CFOs, Vice Presidents of Finance, Directors of Finance and Controllers (or the like) are welcome to attend this program at a one-time cost of $75.

Please note that service providers or any executives who are not senior financial executives (CFOs, Vice Presidents of Finance, Controllers, Directors of Finance, etc.) will not be admitted attendance to this event. The CFO Leadership Council reserves the right to decline any registration.
