Marita S. Erbeck- Partner, Drinker Biddle & Reath (Moderator)
Marita S. Erbeck effectively assists her clients in a diverse range of business and legal issues. For more than 15 years, Marita has represented clients in complex reorganization and litigation matters to maximize their recovery. She represents debtors, trustees, committees and secured and unsecured creditors in complex Chapter 11 cases and was instrumental on the team that successfully reorganized St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey, the first New Jersey hospital to successfully reorganize under Chapter 11.
Marita is experienced in negotiating and drafting plans and disclosure statements, asset purchase agreements and related documents. She was on the team that represented the Indenture Trustee for 10 industrial revenue bond issues totaling over $1.2 billion, making it the largest unsecured creditor on the Official Unsecured Creditors’ Committee in the American Airlines bankruptcy.
Marita is an effective litigator who has achieved favorable outcomes for her clients in federal and state courts. She regularly prosecutes and defends clients in avoidance action litigation, including preference and fraudulent transfer actions. She also represents a leading global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate in real estate and bankruptcy litigation.
James M. Fischer- Partner, Drinker Biddle & Reath
James M. Fischer is chair of the firm’s Corporate and Securities Group. Jim represents both public and private clients in various industries including fintech, insurtech, healthtech, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical, transportation and logistics and general manufacturing.
Jim focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital/corporate venture capital and emerging companies, corporate restructurings, private securities offerings, divestitures and general corporate matters. He also advises both individual and institutional clients in a variety of matters relating to investments in, and transactions with, domestic and foreign proprietary and high frequency trading firms’ incubators and related services providers.
In addition to the practice of law, Jim has previously served as a member of the board of directors of Trading Cross Connects US LLC and Trading Cross Connects Holdings Limited, providers of services to high frequency trading teams, and as the chairman of the board of trustees of the American Herbal Products Association, a position to which he was elected on behalf of a client in the nutraceutical industry.
Jim served as a research assistant in the United Kingdom’s House of Commons and as an intern on Capitol Hill.
Angad Singh- Principal, Long Ridge
Angad joined Long Ridge in 2012 and serves as a Principal.
At Long Ridge, Angad leads deal teams focused on all aspects of the Firm’s investments, from origination and due diligence through deal structuring, execution, and post-investment portfolio management. Angad also serves on several portfolio company boards and works closely with Long Ridge’s executive teams to accelerate growth.
In addition to his investment responsibilities, Angad enjoys the business-building aspects of growing the Firm, including recruiting and training junior members of the investment team.
Prior to joining Long Ridge, Angad was an Associate at Alinda Capital Partners, a leading private equity firm focused on infrastructure investments. At Alinda, Angad primarily invested in the energy and telecom sectors. Angad started his career as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, where he worked in the Corporate Finance Group. While at McKinsey, Angad focused on growth strategy projects in the financial services and energy sectors.
Angad received a B.A. in Biology with Honors from Haverford College.
Andrew Webb- Chief Financial Officer, Convene
Andrew is Convene’s chief financial officer where he works closely with the company’s co-founder and CEO, Ryan Simonetti, on strategy and is responsible for accounting, reporting, planning, investor relations, treasury, procurement, legal, and corporate development. Andrew is focused on maintaining the delicate balance between driving Convene’s high-growth and remaining disciplined in how we invest and achieve that growth.
Andrew has split his career between large public companies and venture capital / private equity-backed growth companies, but has been exclusively working in growth companies since 2010. Most recently, he was the CFO for Candescent Health, a radiology-focused technology and services company, which was sold in 2017. Prior to Candescent, Andrew held strategy, corporate development, and executive roles at NBC, Merrill Lynch, and was a founding employee at Ipreo and Knight Capital Group.
Andrew graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Dartmouth College, where he majored in economics. He was also a four-year member of the nationally-ranked heavyweight crew team.
Andrew and his wife, Denielle, live in Summit, NJ and enjoy spending time with their three very active daughters and dog. Andrew spends time coaching and cheering on the sidelines of basketball and volleyball courts as well as soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse fields.
