William J. Gleason, Managing Director, Market Investment Executive, Bank of America
William J. Gleason is a Managing Director and the Market Investment Executive for the Upper Midwest at Bank of America Private Bank. Headquartered in Chicago, Bill oversees a territory that spans from Minneapolis to Detroit. He directs a team of Portfolio Managers located throughout the market, ensuring that their work maintains the highest standards of diligence, quality, and care. Dedicated to the long-term success of each client, Bill fosters an approach grounded in in-depth customization, robust communication, and technical precision.
Bill is responsible for hiring and retaining preeminent talent within the market. He also supports Portfolio Managers in their ongoing efforts to optimize each client’s investment program. A strong collaborator and communicator, he underscores the importance of staying apprised of client priorities and needs. He believes that the Private Bank’s team-based approach helps clients deploy their capital more efficiently by supporting informed decisions about their lives and legacies. He frequently serves as a speaker and panelist on the firm’s Economic and Investment Strategy Overview, relaying key themes to audiences that have included clients, investment professionals, industry associations, wealth management practitioners, and student groups.
Bill joined Merrill in 1985 and has spent his career focused on the needs of high-net-worth clients. In 2002, he joined Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust). He earned his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina and his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
Dan Dufresne, Global Treasurer, Citadel
Daniel Dufresne is Global Treasurer at Citadel and Citadel
Securities. He oversees the firm’s Treasury and Operations
teams across the U.S., Europe and Asia, with responsibility for
the liquidity framework, secured funding, capital allocation, cash
and collateral exchange, counterparty exposure and clearing and
settlement activity. Mr. Dufresne is also a member of both the
Citadel Portfolio Committee and Citadel Securities Operating
Mr. Dufresne joined Citadel in 1999 from D.E. Shaw as Head of Repo Trading for Global Rates. In this role, he established the infrastructure to fund the Global Rates business and later traded as a PM. In 2003, he joined Treasury as Head of Liquid Products Financing and was named Global Treasurer in January 2008.
Mr. Dufresne has been a member of the Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee (TBAC) since 2015, where he now serves as Vice Chair. He previously served 11 years on the Treasury Market Practices Group (TMPG) and was a member of the Task Force on Tri-Party Repo Infrastructure which began in 2009. That same year, he was named to Crain’s Chicago Business “Forty Under Forty”.
He received a Master of Business Administration, with Honors, from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
